Peterson is dealing with a lower back injury and won't be elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game in Houston, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Alex Collins (groin) has been cleared to rejoin Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas in the Seattle backfield, while Peterson and Travis Homer (calf) have been ruled out. Collins and Penny are both viable candidates to lead the team in carries, while Dallas is more likely to get playing time on passing downs. With Collins out last week, Peterson took 11 carries for 16 yards and a TD in a 30-23 win over the 49ers.
