GM Doug Whaley has shied away from the possibility of using Jones down the stretch, BuffaloBills.com reports. "He looks like he still needs some time," said Whaley. "We've said from day one that this guy needed a redshirt year. He's only played in 11 games in his career so let's let him learn. Let's not advance his progression just yet. Let's just be patient with this guy. Now if something catastrophic happens and we lose Tyrod and EJ and he's the last man standing then yes he'll play. But that's not something that we are planning on or want."

The Bills are just about out of the playoff chase, but it sounds like they're prepared to let Tyrod Tyler ride out the string. And even if they did want to give someone else a look, that would almost certainly be EJ Manuel -- whom the Bills need to make a contract decision on -- and not Jones.
