Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning completed 31 of 42 passes for 324 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 24-12 win over the Lions.

Unable to run for a third straight week, the Broncos relied on their passing game and defense, with the latter once again playing the biggest role in the win.

Manning wasn't brilliant, but this was easily his best performance through the first three weeks of the season, especially considering that he faced so many second-and-longs and third-and-longs.

He did get a big boost from a couple of outstanding individual efforts by Demaryius Thomas on mediocre throws, but Thomas also cost Manning some yards with a pair of bad drops. Manning will return to Denver to face a hot Minnesota defense in Week 4.
