Buccaneers' Cameron Brate: Ruled out Wednesday

Brate will sit out Wednesday's preseason matchup with the Redskins, Greg Auman of the Tamba Bay Times reports.

The Buccaneers are resting the majority of their starters, so Brate will get the night off in order to stay as healthy as possible for the regular season opener. He's expected to share first-team reps with Austin Seferian-Jenkins during the upcoming season, and the two could be paired together in two-tight end sets, so look for Brate to see improvement on his 2015 campaign where he finished with 23 receptions for 288 yards and three touchdowns.
