Glennon is a main reason that head coach Dirk Koetter expresses optimism about the team's depth at quarterback, and is thus unlikely to be dealt heading into his contract year this season, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The four-year veteran appears destined for another season of holding the clipboard behind Jameis Winston, unless a quarterback-needy team comes calling with an offer the Bucs can't refuse. One such squad could conceivably be the Vikings, whose fans voted for Glennon as their top choice to replace the fallen Teddy Bridgewater (knee) in an online poll late Tuesday as reported by Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. However, Koetter appears to value the insurance policy of having a backup in Glennon who started 18 games in 2013-14, particularly with likely third-string signal-caller Ryan Griffin having yet to take a regular-season snap in the NFL. With Glennon likely on the move next offseason to a potential starting opportunity elsewhere, his presence on the roster in 2016 would provide the Bucs with the luxury of grooming Griffin for one additional season.
