Fells avoided an appearance on the Cardinals' first injury report of the week Wednesday.

After taking three weeks to rehab a left shoulder sprain, Fells took on a noticeable workload in his return to action Sunday in Seattle, earning 50 of Arizona's 89 offensive snaps. That number lagged behind fellow tight end Jermaine Gresham's 73 snaps, and their respective stat lines reflected that breakdown (two catches for 26 yards and a touchdown on three targets for Gresham, while Fells gathered in three of four targets for 21 yards). In the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see if Fells can regain his status as the Cardinals' No. 1 tight end, but neither player has produced enough to warrant a look outside of deep formats.
