The Chargers have resumed contract negotiations with Bosa, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Bosa remains the only first-round pick to have not signed his rookie contract. Considering the Chargers had not spoken to Bosa's representatives in a number of weeks, this bit of information is certainly promising. However, even if the Ohio State product does wind up signing his rookie contract soon, he'll likely have to earn the trust of his coaching staff before he sees meaningful time on the field. Throughout the contract impasse, second-year player Darius Philon has impressed during practice and appears to have a stranglehold on the starting defensive end position opposite Corey Liuget.
