The Browns agreed to trade Hyde to the Jaguars on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Given that Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is locked in as the Jaguars' No. 1 back, the move to Jacksonville hurts Hyde's season-long outlook, as he'll no longer rank as the top option out of the backfield like he did in Cleveland. With Fournette sidelined for at least Week 7 against the Texans and possibly additional games to follow, however, Hyde should at least offer some short-term depth to a banged-up backfield. Assuming Hyde is able to get up to speed with the Jacksonville playbook before Sunday, he should work in a complementary role to T.J. Yeldon, who has been filling in as the Jaguars' starter while Fournette has been sidelined. Meanwhile, Hyde's departure from Cleveland positions Nick Chubb to lead the Browns' backfield for the rest of the season.
