Foles was released by the Rams on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Rams made it clear when they traded for the number one pick in the draft and drafted Jared Goff that Foles was not the starting quarterback of their future. The team looked to trade Foles and were unable to find a partner, so they granted the quarterback's request for his release. He will not go through waivers and is currently a free agent, though it's currently unclear which team could be a potential destination. Last season, Foles threw for 2,052 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 56.4 percent of his passes.
