Panthers' Cam Newton: Not spotted at Wednesday's practice

Newton (concussion) was not present during the media portion of Wednesday's practice, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

It's not clear if Newton will be able to get in any work behind the scenes Wednesday, but it appears he will not participate in the Panthers' first practice session of the week. He will need to be cleared of any concussion symptoms before the week concludes in order to play in Week 5.
