Olsen (back) is practicing in a limited capacity Tuesday and could play in Friday's preseason game against the Patriots, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Olsen's back spasms have bothered him for a little over a week now, but he's positively trending and could even return for the Panthers' third preseason contest. The team likely won't risk the veteran tight end's health, so he'll have to put together a few more solid practices this week without any setbacks in order to see the field Friday. Regardless, the issue shouldn't affect his Week 1 status.
