The Panthers don't plan to offer Brown a contract tender, which sets the stage for the wideout to become an unrestricted free agent Thursday, ESPN.com reports.

The 25-year-old wideout is still a candidate to return to the Panthers in 2017, at the right price. In his third season with the team, Brown logged 27 catches on 53 targets for 276 yards and a TD in 16 games for the Panthers in 2016, while working behind Kelvin Benjamin and Ted Ginn Jr.
