Former Lions cornerback Chris Houston inked a one-year deal with the Panthers on Monday, per the team, with the hope that his injured toe can hold up after missing all of the 2014 campaign.

Houston last played in 2013 with the Lions, and he has 13 career interceptions. But Detroit released him one year into a five-year, $25 million deal due to the surgery on his toe.

The Panthers released Jocquel Skinner to make room for Houston.
