Walford appears in line to see the bulk of the tight end targets Sunday against the Saints, as Mychal Rivera (coach's decision) is listed as inactive for the contest.

Walford is one of two tight ends on Oakland's active roster Sunday, but the other, Lee Smith, is slated to serve primarily in a blocking role. The 24-year-old will still have to compete with the likes of Amari Cooper, Latavius Murray and Michael Crabtree for touches, but he should be on the field for most passing situations without Rivera to fall back on. According to Scott Blair of CSN Bay Area, Walford is "a versatile talent poised for a breakout year."
