Raiders' Jalen Richard: Dealing with minor knee injury

Richard is dealing with a minor knee injury, and is unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Packers, Jimmy Durkin of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Richard has been battling throughout training camp for a back-up spot in the Raiders' backfield, but a knee injury that kept him out of Friday's preseason win over the Cardinals leaves him with a week-to-week timetable for a return. In his absence Friday, fellow running back George Atkinson notched two scores and 97 rushing yards as he made a case to overtake Richard on the depth chart. At this point, Richard's potential roster spot could be in jeopardy given his injury and the performance of other options out of the backfield.
