Panthers coach Ron Rivera said the initial diagnosis on wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is he sustained a knee sprain in practice Wednesday. However, he is undergoing further testing and will get an MRI.

"Everybody is trying to be positive and hopefully the good news will come later this afternoon," Rivera said, per the Associated Press.

Benjamin was carted off the practice field Wednesday after hurting his knee in one-on-one drills.

"He went to plant and make a swim move and without any contact just kind of went down," Rivera said. "It was unfortunate and it's one of those things that could have happened in any drill."
