Miller caught three passes for 29 yards on three targets in Sunday's preseason game against the Cardinals.

Brock Osweiler relied heavily on Miller, DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller, with Jaelen Strong sometimes mixing in and then replacing Hopkins in the second quarter. Miller appeared unlikely to land higher than fourth on the Week 1 depth chart, but Sunday's game suggests the third-round rookie may be ahead of Strong for the No. 3 spot. Cecil Shorts, who was believed to be part of the competition, now finds himself fighting for a roster spot. Fuller, Miller and Strong could continue battling for snaps and targets into the regular season.
