Mercilus filled in at weak outside linebacker for the injured Jadeveon Clowney (ankle) and had two sacks in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
The sacks were his first two of the season and Mercilus will continue to fill in on the weak side until Clowney returns. John Simon, who had a sack Sunday, stepped into the starting lineup at strong side linebacker after Mercilus shifted to replace Clowney.
