Jost signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Avalanche on Wednesday.

The Avalanche's top prospect recently finished his freshman year at the University of North Dakota, and he was highly productive in his only season with the Fighting Hawks, racking up 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) in 33 games. Jost will join Colorado for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign, and he could make his NHL debut as soon as Friday against the Blues. The 5-foot-9, 19-year-old Canadian was drafted by Colorado with the 10th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, and he has the potential to develop into a legitimate top-six forward. If he's available, owners in dynasty formats should seriously consider adding Jost to their rosters.
