Glass signed a two-year deal with the Blackhawks on Thursday, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. The contract expires at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season.

The 31-year-old netminder has spent the entirety of the campaign in the AHL, splitting time between the Toronto Marlies and Rockford IceHogs, who are the Blackhawks' farm team. Glass was playing on minor league contracts to this point, which is why the two-year deal he has signed will expire after next season. While Glass has shown some strong play in 2016-17, his signing was likely due to Chicago wanting to have another goalie under contract to expose to the upcoming expansion draft.
