Miller (muscle cramps) will not be available Saturday evening against the Oilers, Steve Ewen of The Province reports. Canucks coach Willie Desjardins estimates that Miller will be out for another week. "Miller's a little longer than we thought," said Desjardins. "I thought he'd be close to being ready to go. He's maybe a week."

As indicated in the report, Miller has been dealing with muscle cramps. He hasn't been in the crease since Dec. 20, when he experienced a busy night and stopped 38 of 42 shots to the Panthers. Based on the return estimate by Desjardins, Miller could be available for a home contest against the Coyotes on Jan. 4. Jacob Markstrom is the temporary goalie starter with Joe Cannata slotted into a backup role.
