Sgarbossa was returned to AHL Hershey on Friday, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.
Sgarbossa was summoned by Washington on Thursday but ended up being a healthy scratch in that evening's 3-2 overtime win over Columbus. At the AHL level, he has five goals and 28 points in 28 contests with Hershey.
