Smid (neck) is expected to return to the lineup Friday, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
Smid returned to practice with the team Wednesday, indicating a return to the lineup could be on the horizon. That continues to appear the case, as he should now return to the lineup Friday. He remains on injured reserve at this point, but the Flames still have until Friday to activate him.
