Tennyson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes Sunday, The Charlotte News Observer reports.

The contract will pay $675,000 on the NHL level and $275,000 in the AHL, as Tennyson will give the Hurricanes solid depth on the defensive line. He is coming off a season where he appeared in a career-high 29 NHL games for San Jose and will look to build on that as it looks like Carolina will give the 26-year-old an opportunity on the ice.
