Panthers' Roberto Luongo: Set for first start following coaching swap
Luongo will start in goal Tuesday night against host Chicago, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
In a controversial move, the Panthers fired coach Gerard Gallant following Sunday's loss to the Hurricanes, and the Sun Sentinel reports that "inconsistent play and a philosophical divide" between Gallant and the club was the precursor to the canning. Even with GM Tom Rowe taking over as the interim bench boss, there's been no public talk of Luongo's workload being handled any differently. The 16-year veteran is 8-6-0 on the season to complement a robust 2.20 GAA over 14 starts.
