Boedker agreed to terms on a two-year deal with HC Lugano on Tuesday.
Boedker's deal won't kick in until the 2020-21 campaign, so he will still be available for the Senators should the league resume regular-season contests. Even with a 24-team playoff model, Ottawa won't be partaking in a postseason, so at most, Boedker has 11 more games remaining before jetting off to Europe. At 29 years of age, this may mark the end of the winger's NHL career, which would see him eventually retire having registered 118 goals and 209 helpers in 709 games for the Coyotes, Sharks, Senators and Avalanche over the course of his 12-year career.
