Karlsson (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
The Sharks have recalled Barclay Goodrow and Ryan Carpenter from the AHL, with Karlsson's IR designation clearing up an extra spot. The Melk Man has missed the past six games, but he'll be eligible to return when healthy. Third-year pivot Chris Tierney has points in the last three and makes for a decent replacement option in the bottom six.
