Bishop was traded from the Kings to the Stars on Tuesday in exchange for Montreal's fourth-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.

As we saw in the dealing of Scott Darling just a week and a half ago, teams in need of goaltenders are becoming more willing to deal assets in exchange for negotiating rights to some of the top pending free agents, and this time it's the Stars' turn to get in on the fun. Bishop is coming off an odd season of sorts, as he posted career worsts in save percentage (.911) and GAA (2.55) with Tampa Bay before being shipped off to Los Angeles near the trade deadline. If the 30-year-old ends up signing with the Stars, it will represent a big upgrade at the goalie position for the team, as Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi both ranked in the bottom quarter of all qualified keepers in save percentage and GAA for the 2016-17 season.
