Bystrom signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Stars on Saturday, Sean Shapiro of NHL.com reports.

The Swedish defenseman spent the last three seasons honing his craft with AHL Texas, and his most recent campaign included a carbon copy of his 2015-16 totals, contributing two goals and 14 assists each year. Scouts have noted that Bystrom is a mobile skater with offensive upside, but apparently he needs to get stronger. For now, Stars fans should view him as an organizational depth option.
