Folin underwent offseason shoulder surgery Monday, but is expected to be ready for the 2017-18 campaign, ESPN.com reports.
Folin missed 10 games with what the team described as an upper-body injury, which could be related to this shoulder ailment. The blueliner was also scratched from the Wild's final three playoff contests, and it's unclear whether this was linked. Even when he was in the lineup, the 26-year-old averaged a mere 14:56 of ice time -- sixth among Minnesota defensemen. Unless Folin can secure a more consistent role next year, fantasy owners may want to consider other blue-line options.
