Ella Mae Colbert recently set the record for the 100-meter dash -- and she's 100 years old.

According to WYFF, the South Carolina woman waited until a few days after her 100th birthday to attempt to break the record for fastest 100-meter dash by a 100-year-old.

After falling on her first attempt, Colbert regrouped, heading back to the starting line for another run. This time she blazed down the track in a time of 46.791 seconds, destroying the previous mark of one minute, 17 seconds.

"You'll have some trials and you'll have something that get in your way," she said, "but you don't let it get you down. Get up, go again."

Officials were on hand to make sure the time was as accurate as possible, and the family has already applied for inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records.
