Martin Truex Jr. won his series-leading third race of the season in overtime in the NASCAR Quaker State 400 at Kentucky after leading the most laps. Kurt Busch sent the race into overtime after seeing his engine blow up with just three laps to go as Truex had a seemingly insurmountable lead. The No. 78 was able to hold off both Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson on the restart en route to his 10th career victory.

Truex swept the first two stages over pole-starter and Xfinity race winner Kyle Busch. Truex Jr. now has 13 mid-race stage victories, which leads the series. No other driver has more than four. Larson also impressed early, climbing into the top five at points in both stages after starting the race from the rear.

Three-time Kentucky winner Brad Keselowski saw his day end on lap 88 when his No. 2 got loose also taking out both Kasey Kahne and seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson. Stewart-Haas Racing's Clint Bowyer was also involved in the wreck but stayed in the race.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. led three laps during green flag pit stops in his final race at Kentucky Speedway. He finished 12th.
