Report: Oscar Pistorius to face additional charges Monday
Oscar Pistorius is set to be indicted on murder charges Monday, but prosecutors are reportedly seeking two additional gun charges.
Former Olympian Oscar Pistorius is due to be indicted in a South African court Monday, and reports Friday indicate that Pistorius will face two additional charges separate from the February murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
A South African news station is reporting that the National Prosecuting Authority has informed Pistorius' lawyers of two additional charges of firing a gun in public.
The latter charges refer to two specific incidents. In one, prosecutors allege Pistorius fired a gun out of the sunroof of a friend's car. The other accuses the sprinter of shooting a gun in a restaurant.
Pistorius, 26, claims he shot Steenkamp in his home by accident, mistaking her for an intruder.
