Brad Keselowski was looking for a record fourth win at Kentucky Speedway until he got loose on a lap 88 restart in Stage 2, taking out seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne. Clint Bowyer was the only driver involved in the accident who was able to continue racing.

Martin Truex Jr. went on to win the race in overtime after sweeping the first two stages.
