AJ Pierzynski

You know who really doesn't like White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski? Other players.

That's what the results of a Men's Journal survey of 100 current major-leaguers tell us. The second-most-hated player, Yankees' third baseman Alex Rodriguez, was named by 10 percent of respondents, while Pierzynkski was named by a whopping 34 percent of those interviewed. "[Pierzynski] likes to talk a lot of [stuff], and I've heard he's a bad teammate," one NL pitcher told Men's Journal. "He's been [mean] to guys on his own pitching staff. Basically, if you haven't got five years in the big leagues, he treats you like you're a peasant. He's that kind of guy."

Somewhat surprising is that Yankees' outfielder Nick Swisher placed third. “Everything about [Swisher] is annoying, from his mannerisms to his always wanting to ‘bro’ it down,” said an unnamed AL veteran. “Being around him is just exhausting.”

From a distance, Swisher seems like a likeable sort, but there is of course no accounting for tastes. Would Swisher appear near the top of the list if he weren't a Yankee?

On other fronts, players named San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York as having the most obnoxious fans.

So, readers, who's your most hated player?
