Since a dreadful 2-11 (and then 6-17) start, things have slowly started to turn around for the Blue Jays. They are 13-9 in May and have moved to 21-26 overall this season. On Friday, they'll get back the entire left side of their infield, too. Manager John Gibbons told MLB Network Radio on Friday that both shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and third baseman Josh Donaldson would be activated from the disabled list in time for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Donaldson has only played nine games -- just six starts -- this year, as a right calf injury has hampered him throughout. The perennial MVP candidate hit .310/.429/.586 pre-injury. With him on the shelf, the Jays have used mostly Darwin Barney and Chris Coghlan at third base.

Tulowitzki has been out since April 21 with a hamstring injury. It's been mostly Ryan Goins in his stead. Tulo isn't quite the hitter he used to be, but he's still a very good everyday shortstop. He had 21 doubles and 24 homers last year in 131 games while racking up 10 defensive runs saved.

The Blue Jays are looking to make the playoffs this season for the third straight year after having missed the postseason every year since 1993. Toward the end of April, it seemed a laughable chance, but they've won 15 of their last 24 games and now get back two of their marquee players. Things finally seem to be looking up.
