Derek Jeter leaves game with bone bruise in ankle

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was forced to leave Wednesday night's game against the Red Sox with an apparent leg injury in the eighth inning. After the game is was reported that it's a re-aggravation of a bone bruise in his left ankle and is not believed serious.

After hitting into a double play, Jeter ran past first base limping down the right-field line. He was tended to by trainer Steve Donohue and manager Joe Girardi before leaving the game.

Jeter, 38, is hitting .324/.368/.449 with 15 homers, 52 RBI, 91 runs and 30 doubles this season. The Captain is getting some buzz for MVP consideration, too.
