The Diamondbacks announced Friday that they have claimed infielder Cody Ransom from the Brewers and that Ransom will be activated when rosters expand Saturday.
Ransom hit .269/.345/.577 in 58 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks earlier this season before the Brewers claimed him off waivers. In Milwaukee, Ransom hit .196/.293/.345 in 194 plate appearances but has been better in August, hitting .265/.324/.382 in 38 plate appearances.
Prior to this season, the 36-year-old Ransom hadn't logged more than 90 major-league plate appearances in any year.
