The Diamondbacks have claimed catcher Wil Nieves off waivers from the Rockies, tweeted The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecero. The Diamondbacks have also placed catcher Henry Blanco on the disabled list, as he's dealing with a hand injury.

Nieves played 16 games with the Rockies, batting .298/.333/.404 in 47 at-bats, with one home run and five RBI. The Diamondbacks are his third team in the last three years.

Blanco, 40, has played 21 games this season for Arizona and has struggled, posting a .505 OPS.
