Giants reliever Jeremy Affeldt has been cleared for a rehab assignment. Affeldt, who has been on the disabled list since June 26 with a shoulder strain, will report to Triple-A Sacramento, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
It is not yet known how many rehab appearances Affeldt will need before being deemed ready to return to the Giants' bullpen.
