The Rays have signed reliever Joel Peralta to a two-year contract that includes team options for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons, the club announced Tuesday.
The deal was initially reported Nov. 5 to be a two-year, $6-million pact with a $2.5-million club option for 2015. The new announcement does not include monetary figures, but it does add on two extra years of club options for the Rays.
Peralta, 36, threw 67 innings for the Rays with a 3.63 ERA (105 ERA+) and a tremendous 4.94 K/BB in 2012. Over the past three years, Peralta has been one of the most reliable non-closer relievers in the game, notching a 2.94 ERA (132 ERA+) and 4.41 K/BB in 183.2 innings between the Nationals and Rays.
