Twins first baseman/designated hitter Justin Morneau has been sidelined since April 30 with a wrist injury, but he took batting practice Monday and Tuesday and appears ready to get back on the field.

The Twins have just issued a statement saying Morneau will be activated in time for Wednesday's game against the Tigers. As a corresponding move, Chris Parmelee has been optioned to Triple-A.

Morneau, 31, is hitting .230/.313/.459 with four homers and nine RBI this season (in 20 games). The four-time All-Star and 2006 AL MVP hasn't been able to stay healthy for some time. He played 135 games in 2009, but just 81 in 2010 and 69 last season.

After being shut out by Derek Lowe of the Indians Tuesday, the Twins are now an MLB-worst 10-26.
