The Astros are hosting the Mariners Wednesday afternoon (1:10 p.m. local time in Houston) and it marks the final home game of the season for the host. It's also the final time we'll ever see Tal's Hill in play in center field during the regular season. In honor of baseball's only hill -- and flagpole in play -- the Astros are using customized bases on Wednesday:

When the Astros initially planned to alter the center-field area and remove the hill from play, here was an artist rendering of what it might look like:

So the Minute Maid construction will be underway once the Astros' season is concluded -- either right when they are mathematically eliminated from the wild-card spot or bounced from the playoffs. Or after they win the World Series. But the plan is for it to be gone before 2017.
