The Mets placed pitcher Buddy Carlyle on the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the Cubs.
Carlyle is dealing with back spasms, and the move was made retroactive to May 12. He is 1-0 with a 5.63 ERA and 6:1 K:BB ratio in eight innings.
The Mets recalled pitcher Jack Leathersich from Triple-A Las Vegas as expected to fill the roster spot vacated by Carlyle's injury.
