The Padres reactivated outfielder Jeremy Hermida off the 60-day DL and optioned him to Triple-A Tucson, Jeff Sanders of the North County Times reported. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Padres also designated reliever Mark Hamburger for assignment.

Hermida has been dealing with a hip flexor injury since April 28. He hit .250/.333/.375 in 13 games prior to the injury; he has a .257/.334/.415 line in 632 career major league games.

Hamburger has just five major-league games under his belt, all coming last season with the Rangers. In 12 innings this year with TUcson, Hamburger has a 7.50 ERA and a 3.67 K/BB.
