Elbow discomfort caused Padres pitcher Josh Johnson to be removed from his rehab start last week, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Johnson is recovering from his second Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the season. He will consult Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday.
"It's concerning, especially for a guy like Josh," assistant general manager Fred Uhlman Jr. said. "In my time here, he's worked as hard or harder than anybody to come back from these types of surgeries. From the training room to the weight room to the mound, he's put in a lot of effort. Until we see him, until our doctors take a look at him, we can't [update his status], but it’s disappointing for him because we were hoping to get him 25 pitches [on Friday] and go on to the next outing on Monday."
