Philliesreliever Adam Loewen (1-0) got one out in the form of a fifth-inning strikeout to pick up the victory in a 2-1 win over the Mets on Tuesday.

The 31-year old was the beneficiary of an easy win Tuesday, as he happened to be on the mound to close out the fifth inning. Loewen has provided some uneven performances out of the Phillies bullpen, but has settled down some in September. The hard-throwing southpaw has lowered his still-inflated ERA during the month from 9.00 to 7.79, with scoreless appearances in six out of his last eight outings.
