CBSSports.com's Danny Knobler passes along word that the Rangers have placed right-hander Alexi Ogando on the 15-day disabled list because of inflammation in his throwing shoulder. The move is retroactive to June 6.

Ogando, 29, has pitched this season to a 2.93 ERA (150 ERA+), 1.23 WHIP and 1.95 K/BB ratio. Earlier this season, he spent time on the DL with biceps tendinitis.

To replace Ogando on the active roster and in the rotation, the Rangers have recalled 25-year-old Josh Lindblom. Lindblom, who was acquired from the Phillies last December as part of the Michael Young trade, has a career ERA of 3.50 (111 ERA+) across 102 major-league appearances, only one of which has been a start.

Ogando joins fellow injured Texas starters Matt Harrison, Colby Lewis and Neftali Feliz on the DL.
