The Red Sox optioned pitcher Drake Britton and catcher Ryan Lavarnway to Triple-A Pawtucket Friday.
Britton posted a 6.52 ERA and 9:4 K:BB ratio in 9 2/3 innings this spring. Lavarnway, who was previously reported to be on the trade block, hit .289/.357/.474 with two home runs and five RBI in 38 at-bats.
