The Blue Jays agreed to terms with 23-year-old Cuban defector Lourdes Gurriel, reports Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com. As for the terms:

Lourdes Gurriel is the younger brother of Astros third baseman Yulieski Gurriel, who hit .262/.292/.385 in 137 plate appearances late in the season for Houston. The elder Gurriel was 32 when he was signed.

Lourdes' relative youth netted a longer-term deal. It is reminscent of Jorge Soler's eight-year, $30 million deal in the low per-year value while making sure to have the player under control for more years in the case he needs several in the minors before hitting the bigs.

Lourdes Gurriel has played all over the diamond in Cuba, showing great athleticism anywhere from shortstop to corner outfield spots to first base. In his last season of Cuban action, 2015, he hit .344/.407/.560 with 17 doubles, 10 homers and eight steals in 59 games.

Baseball America has a scouting report on Gurriel here while MLB.com has one here. BA pegs him as similar to Ryan Zimmerman out of college and believes Gurriel could start in Double-A or Triple-A. He's listed at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds and the latter should increase as he ages and fills out.

Don't expect the Blue Jays' depth chart to change to start, given the minor-league estimation above, but Gurriel could start making an impact somewhere by the end of 2017.
